When the handful of members decided to form a club they put an ad in the paper announcing their first trail ride. These same founding members attended the first meeting of the North Idaho Saddle Mule Club in 1976.
This is our 32nd anniversary!
Today there are more than 80 family memberships in the club, which tells us that mules are appreciated by many in this part of the country. Our members participate in trail rides, BBQ's, mule and donkey shows, fund raising poker rides, playdays, endurance rides, packing, auctions and parades. The one thing we all have in common is that we love our mules, as did the founding members of the NISMC.
And they are:
| Skip Allert | Bill Everle |
| Bob and Jackie Halfhide | Don Jacklin |
| Stan Jamison | Gayle Kiesz |
| Dick Waller | Larry Weber |
